Bonham, Texas — Funeral services for Francine Nicholson Johnston will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Bro. Rex Jackson, assisted by Marty Hutchings. Burial will follow at Willow Wild Cemetery. Francine passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison.

Francine was born March 27, 1928 in Barry, Texas, the daughter of Henry and Lucille Barr Nicholson. She married Charlie Wayne “Chiley” Johnston on October 6, 1950 in Marshall, Texas. She was a graduate of East Texas Teacher’s College, but her life was joyfully spent as a farmer’s wife and homemaker. She was a longtime member of Boyd Baptist Church.

Francine enjoyed painting, playing piano, crocheting, and quilting. She quilted with the Snap Center in Bonham for many years. She assisted with Camp Fire, volunteered as a Pink Lady at the Red River Regional Hospital in Bonham, and was an avid supporter of the Women Rock Breast Cancer organization.

Francine was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Charlie Wayne “Chiley” Johnston in 2001; brothers, Henry Ray and Clyde Nicholson, and grandson, Jeremy Kreitel.

Surviving are son, Mike Johnston and wife Debbie of Ivanhoe; daughter, Jerra Reynolds and husband Barry of Denison; 3 grandchildren, Courtney Cooper and husband Jon of Ivanhoe, Ryan Johnston and wife Ashley of Van Alstyne, and Scott Sellers of Pottsboro; 5 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Wise Funeral Home, and, again beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, before the service.
